McIngvale Interested in Buying Houston Rockets

Gallery Furniture owner Jim McIngvale, a long-time supporter of professional and amateur sports in the Houston area, has expressed interest in buying the NBA’s Houston Rockets, according to several media reports.
Longtime Rockets owner Les Alexander announced earlier this week he wants to sell the team, and McIngvale is one of several Houston-area residents who have said they’re interested in becoming the new owner.
Forbes magazine recently valued the team at $1.65 billion, so Mattress Mack wouldn’t be able to write a check by himself. However, he told several Houston media outlets that he’s trying to put together a group of investors to make a bid.
