Former Furniture First Exec, Retailer Ron Page Dies at 64

Ron Page, a former retailer and longtime executive with the Furniture First buying group, died July 1. He was 64.

Page joined Furniture First in 2001 and retired in 2015 for health reasons. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in developing programs and building relationships that helped the group grow from 47 retailers to more than 200.

Earlier, he was the owner of National Waterbeds and Living Rooms, a retailer in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and worked as an independent consultant for the furniture industry.

He also was the recipient of the President’s Award from the Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn., an industry group that has members in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware.

Survivors include his father, a daughter, one sister and one brother.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 10 in Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. There will be a viewing from 2 – 4 p.m. on July 8 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, Penn, and again from 10 – 11 a.m. on July 10 at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, Penn., before leaving for the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Ron’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 1500 Paxton Street, Suite 101, Harrisburg, Pa.,17104.
