Ashley Furniture broke ground Monday on a 500,000-square-foot expansion of its Arcadia, Wis., facility that will serve as an e-commerce fulfillment and distribution center.
The expansion will boost Ashley’s total factory and warehouse space in Arcadia to more than three million square feet.
Ashley officials said the expansion will enhance its ability to fill e-commerce orders and improve its speed to market. The new facility is scheduled for completion in February 2018.
“Ashley’s commitment to meeting the needs of our customers comes in many forms,” said Todd Wanek, President and CEO of Ashley. “Our latest investment involving this 500,000 square-foot expansion is a prime example of reinvesting in the future of our Wisconsin facilities. The expansion will allow processes to expand, improve capital asset utilization and allow for additional space to service our customer base in a timelier fashion.”
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was on hand for the ground-breaking, noting that Ashley has more than 5,000 employees in Wisconsin.
“Ashley Furniture recognizes that this is a great time to invest in Wisconsin,” Walker said. “Their expansion project here in Arcadia is a win-win, allowing Ashley to better serve their customers throughout the state, the nation, and the world, while also investing in and enhancing the local economy.”
