Dearden’s, a 108-year-old furniture retailer in Southern California, will close all eight of its stores by the end of the summer, according to multiple media reports.
Ronny Bensimon, Dearden’s president and CEO, was quoted as saying the closure was due to increasing competition from online retailers such as Amazon.
The company was founded in 1909, and has stores in Anaheim, Chino, Commerce, Huntington Park, La Puente, Los Angeles, Santa Ana and Van Nuys. It also operates a warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga.
