Bunakara to Make Dallas Market Debut

Bunakara, a Portuguese resource for high-end home furnishings and textiles, will open a 600-square-foot showroom for its debut at the upcoming Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, June 21-27.

Officials said the new showroom will support the company’s sales growth in the South Central region of the United States.

In addition, Bunakara has partnered with In-Detail, a leading sales group which represents some of the finest home accessories and furnishings in the industry, to represent the product line in the region and at the Dallas Market.

“Exhibiting at the Dallas Market is part of our growth strategy to expand our reach to other parts of the country,” said Dixon Bartlett, U.S. sales and marketing director for Bunakara. “We are excited about our debut and anticipate great traffic as a result of the new energy surrounding the show, as well as our new partnership with In-Detail, whose team of award-winning reps bring extensive knowledge of the industry, the Dallas Market and tremendous relationships with retail buyers and interior designers.”

Located on the sixth floor in Suite 6-411-HM in the Temps area of the World Trade Center, Bunakara’s space will feature furniture, home accents and textiles hand-crafted in India, using authentic materials such as acacia wood, cotton, linen, natural dyes and sand-cast brass. Each piece also features an unexpected signature detail such as an iconic single painted chair leg, a hidden message on the inner core of a pillow, an ornate sand-cast brass ferrule on a simple acacia table leg or an intricate hand-applied lace appliqué.

All the pieces also feature Bunakara’s signature, a beaded Flower of India insignia.

In addition to the Bunakara showroom, the company’s product line will be on display alongside several other home accents lines that In-Detail represents in the permanent In-Detail showroom, located in Suite 500 of the World Trade Center.

Georgina Weddell, co-founder of In-Detail, shares the excitement about the partnership with Bunakara, and said the companies have similar business philosophies.

“In-Detail carefully selects the brands we represent, choosing the best in design and the ability to deliver these products to our retailers and designers,” she said. “We immediately became excited about the fresh point of view of Joana Aranha, Bunakara’s creator, and the simple, but luxurious look of the products.”

New products featured in the showroom include a tailored, natural ivory linen slipcover collection for the Fingerprint chairs and chaises, which were developed to address the need for protecting the pieces from daily use as well as providing a seasonal change to the look of each piece.

Coordinating perfectly with the new slipcovers, is the eight-drawer Timeless Commode which will be offered in a new pure Ivory finish this summer. Crafted of mango wood, the piece features intricate bronze sand-cast hardware on the soft-close drawers and is paired with a contemporary base in a matching finish.
