Art Van Furniture has opened a new franchised store in Muncie, Ind. – the retailer’s 17th franchised location in the Midwest.
Formerly Dillman’s Furniture and Mattress, the 41,857 square-foot store will continue to be operated by John and Colette Dillman, who opened the Muncie store in August 2001.
"We are proud and excited to continue our legacy under a strong brand like Art Van Furniture," said John Dillman. "This opportunity gives us the ability to expand our product offerings, elevate our customer service and delivery experience — ultimately enabling us to grow our customer base."
The Dillman family founded their company in 1976, and has four other stores in East Central Indiana.
"We are excited to work with the Dillman family, which has been an integral part of the East Central Indiana community for over 40 years," said Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van Furniture. "Together with John and Colette Dillman, we will continue to deliver on the family's promise of ‘Making Comfort Affordable.’ We look forward to establishing new Art Van Furniture traditions while keeping the personal family touch customers have become accustomed too."
All employees of the Muncie store been retained, with additional hiring slated in the coming months. The new store will be home to many favorite Art Van Furniture product lines, including Art Van PureSleep and Art Van Clearance Center.
The store is hosting a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration beginning at 5 p.m. on June 7.
