Serta Simmons Bedding to Move to Single HQ in 2019

Serta Simmons Bedding, which currently has more than 500 employees in four locations, said it will consolidate the offices into a single corporate headquarters site in Atlanta in 2019.
The company wouldn’t disclose the specific site of the new headquarters, but said it is in the final stages of negotiations on the project and will make more information available “in the next several weeks.”
Currently, the Serta brand is based in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Ill., while Simmons’ corporate headquarters is in the Concourse office park in Atlanta.
In addition, Simmons has a research and development center just outside Atlanta, and SSB has offices in the Buckhead section of Atlanta.
“The reason for this decision is to reap the benefits of having our teams together in one location for better collaboration, work flow and communications. We will adjust the campus design to assure continued brand differentiation for Serta and Simmons Beautyrest,” the company said in a statement.
The new facility will include an Innovation Center, which will house research and development activities, as well as a multi-brand showroom, according to SSB officials.
The company said about 120 employees work at the Serta headquarters in Hoffman Estates, and another 200 are at the Simmons headquarters. In addition, about 75 people are at the existing research and development facility, and about 125 work at the SSB corporate headquarters in Buckhead.
