Crystorama Partners with Designer Brian Patrick Flynn; Fixtures Set to Hit Retail Floors in April

Lighting leader Crystorama Lighting, has partnered with designer Brian Patrick Flynn to create a new line of lighting fixtures, set to hit retail stores nationwide beginning in April.

Flynn has created a series of fixture collections with designs that range from midcentury-modern globe pendants to streamlined lanterns, with materials that include nickel, acrylic, brass and bronze.

The four collections, Flynn’s first-ever home furnishings designs include: Alston - a classic drum shape with distinctive chunky metal chain; Hulton -  inspired by the shape and scale of classic drum pendants, with a unique geometric twist incorporating a shade-less metal drum for around the perimeter of the inner drum shape; Hurley – modern, masculine spin on classic lantern lighting; and Truax – a transitional take on the midcentury modern globe pendant.

"We can’t wait to share these exciting new mid-century modern, transitional and traditional designs with our customers," said Patrice Auerbach, vice president of marketing and visual design for Elements Distinctive Lighting and Home Furnishings in Carle Place, N.Y., which will be carrying the line.

"Brian Patrick Flynn has a keen sense for how today’s consumers live and decorate. With these designs, Brian takes classic shapes and forms and then updates them in very fresh directions through creative scale, colors and materials."

Flynn is an American interior designer and decorator with a unique background as a production designer and set decorator for TV and film. Known for his eclectic mashup of design styles and mix of high and low price points, Flynn's interiors are best described as "soft masculine" due to his use of menswear-inspired patterns, pastel palettes and playful art.

"We’re so excited about the amazing reception we received to this line during its launch at the January Lightovation show in Dallas," said Brad Kleinberg, president of Crystorama Lighting. "Retailers told us that this collection was spot-on with what their customers are looking for right now — accessible, affordable 'statement-piece' fixtures with just the right amount of pizazz to make rooms truly come to life."

Flynn describes his new lighting line for Crystorama as an original exploration of scale and simplicity. "I’ve taken a lot of tried-and-true classic shapes and designs and adjusted their scale wider or larger to enhance the drama and the level of light they deliver. I like the idea of having a striking, statement-making light fixture in every room, and these designs are eye catching from the minute you walk into a space."

To help build awareness at retail for the new line, Crystorama is promoting its Brian Patrick Flynn collections through an active program of advertising, social media and other digital marketing.
