Historic Doerr Furniture Sign Shines Again

A historic sign above New Orleans-based Doerr Furniture has been restored and is shining brightly for the first time since the early 1950s, according to a report from New Orleans television station WGNO.
The report said Shane Mutter, who recently was named president of the retailer, made the sign restoration a priority after hearing discussions about it more than a year ago.
The sign is believed to have been installed in the early 1940s, but has been dark since 1952, the report said.
