2017 by Larry Thomas in Business Strategy, Industry
Art Van Elslander doesn’t plan to get back in the furniture business, but the founder of Art Van Furniture plans to remain active in new for-profit and not-for-profit ventures, according to a story in Crain’s Detroit Business
Van Elslander, who last week reached agreement to sell his furniture stores to the private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners, told Crain’s his new for-profit venture would make “targeted investments and acquisitions” outside the furniture industry.
He’s also formed a new foundation, the A.A Van Elslander Foundation.
