FastFact: Generation X in Midst of Prime Earning Years

The often-overlooked Generation X, which are people born between 1966 and 1981, are now in their prime earning years with household incomes frequently topping $70,000, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
In 2015, the Census data showed that median income was highest for GenXers age 45 to 49 at $76,095. That was followed by the 40 to 44 age group, which came in at $72,143.
