Report: Furniture Gets Prominent Role in Big Lots Redesign
December 30,
2016 by Larry Thomas in Business Strategy, Industry
Discount retailer Big Lots (NYSE: BIG) will roll out a new store design in select markets sometime next year, and executives said the redesign will feature a prominent display of furniture at the front of the store, according to a report in the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch.
President and CEO David Campisi said the new design won’t be finalized until mid-2017, and then will be tested in two or three markets before making a full roll-out.
“You have to do something different,” Campisi said. “We think there’s an opportunity to create more of a whimsical, fun shopping experience.”
