Dallas Market Center Hires Falvey for New Publications Post

Dallas Market Center announced that gift, home, housewares and gourmet industry veteran Diane Falvey has joined the company as editor-in-chief of DMC Media, a newly created position.

In her new post, Falvey is responsible for editorial content for Dallas Market Center- owned media that currently include magazines, directories, and digital media. The publications have a combined circulation of more than 250,000 and include the award-winning Source magazine as well as market guides and directories.

Falvey reports to Greg Joselove, vice president, DMC Media.

“Diane’s editorial experience, industry knowledge and passion for product will serve her extremely well,” said Joselove. “She joins an expanding team intent on creating enhanced methods for exhibitors to connect with more buyers. We have already begun exploring and developing new opportunities.”

Falvey joins the company from Progressive Business Media, where she was Editor-in-Chief of Gifts and Decorative Accessories, a monthly trade magazine and brand serving the gift and home industries. Earlier, Falvey held the roles of Executive Editor and Senior Editor at Gourmet Insider and HomeWorld Business magazines, respectively, at ICD Publications, focusing on the housewares and gourmet industries.

Dallas Market Center officials said the new position is part of a larger strategic plan to enhance and improve marketing opportunities for exhibitors and to engage more creatively with the 200,000 customers visiting Dallas Market Center annually.

All Dallas Market Center publications are undergoing a complete review for design, content, and distribution with the goal of offering the best information to a loyal buyer base that includes an expanding number of buyers visiting the market center throughout the year.

In addition to traditional media, emerging communications channels such as mobile apps, social media, web advertising, digital signage, and video will present new opportunities to connect exhibitors with buyers in more targeted and meaningful ways, and Falvey will contribute to identifying and creating content for these innovative efforts, officials said.
