Blue Bell Mattress Renews Agreement with King Koil

Connecticut-based Blue Bell Mattress Co. has renewed its licensing agreement with top 10 mattress manufacturer King Koil.

Blue Bell has been King Koil’s Northeast licensee for nearly 50 years, making it the company’s longest continuous partner.

“We truly value our business partnership with King Koil,” said Mark Kolovson, Blue Bell CEO. “As one of the bedding industry’s top manufacturers, our commitment to King Koil remains consistent, and we see great things ahead for the brand with impressive growth plans and new product innovations.”

Blue Bell is the largest of King Koil’s nine U.S. licensees. The licensing agreement between the two companies is effective immediately and includes the entire King Koil product assortment.

King Koil works with more than 43 licensees across the globe serving more than 90 countries.

“Blue Bell has been a leader in our stable of licensing partners,” said Owen Shoemaker, president of King Koil. “As the mattress landscape continues to shift, we expect King Koil to remain a strong, reliable player for our retailer partners. By aligning ourselves with the Blue Bells of the world, we’ll exceed our dealers’ expectations with great product that resonates with consumers.”

Blue Bell sells King Koil branded and private-label innerspring and hybrid mattresses to bedding and furniture retailers in nearly 1,500 store locations from Maine to Florida, and as far west as Illinois.

Founded in 1928, the company operates from a 200,000-square-foot facility. The owners of Blue Bell, a third-generation family-owned business, sold a majority stake in the company in 2014 to private equity firm Longroad Asset Management LLC, headquartered in Stamford, Conn.
