Leggett & Platt Reorganizes Business Segments, Re-Assigns Execs

Leggett & Platt, (LEG) a major supplier of furniture and bedding components, said it is reorganizing some of its business segments and re-assigning several senior executives as part of its succession planning.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said its Commercial Products segment will be renamed the Furniture Products segment as of Jan. 1, and will be expanded to include its furniture components and seating businesses.
Furniture components and seating had been part of the Residential Furnishings segment, which is being renamed Residential Products segment and includes the company’s innerspring and carpet cushioning businesses.
In addition, the company’s Industrial Materials segment, which includes its drawn wire and steel rod businesses, is being renamed Industrial Products segment.
According to the filing, Perry Davis, currently senior vice president and president of the Residential Furnishings segment, will oversee that segment and the Industrial Products segment beginning Jan. 1 and will be promoted to executive vice president and president Industrial Products and Residential Products.
Jack Crusa, senior vice president and president of the Industrial Products and Specialized Products segments, will become senior vice president of operations and will report to Davis during a transition period until his undetermined retirement date, the company said.
In addition, J. Mitchell Dolloff, currently senior vice president and president of the Specialized Products segment, will become head of the new furniture products segment on Jan. 1 and is being promoted to executive vice president and president of specialized products and furniture products.
Dennis Park, currently senior vice president and president of the Commercial Products segment, will become senior vice president of operation and report to Dolloff. The company said Park also plans to retire, but his retirement date hasn’t been determined.
