Case goods, upholstery and accent furniture resource Four Hands will unveil a new case goods brand, BRL, at the upcoming High Point Market.
The company described BRL as “a one-of-a-kind breakthrough brand” that features an expansive line of case goods that “combine cutting edge design and comfortability, drawing from converging pedigrees of two groundbreaking designers who have led the charge in conscious design for more than two decades.”
The company said Thomas Bina and Ed Robinson forged BRL – along with 25-year industry veteran Joe Lenney – as an eye-popping expression of vibrant materials braced by a flawless attention to detail. The new line features beds, dressers, credenzas, dining tables, desks and more.
For Bina, the trailblazing designer whose association with Four Hands is now in its seventh year, it’s the first time the artist has partnered in a collaborative-designer brand.
“I’ve always been the gypsy entrepreneur, a one-man show, so to speak, and have had great success with that. I’ve also known Ed for years and have always respected him as a consummate designer. The integrity of his designs and his sophisticated attention to detail blows my mind. We had talked about partnering for a while and this is the perfect moment to combine our strengths and take what we do to the next level.”
“Where Thomas and I really find our mutual DNA,” Robinson says, “is in fresh, simple, modern design. Taking the organic and the modern and making it very comfortable.”
According to Lenny, “Thomas and Ed complement each other’s talent is so many ways, my role is to deliver this exciting new brand and spectacular kick-off collection to the world.”
Recognized for their own successful career trajectories that have impacted the furniture industry for more than two decades, the BRL collaborators said the new brand thrives as a platform to expand reciprocal talents and engage more maverick instincts that challenge the status quo, making it a perfect fit with Four Hands.
“Thomas Bina is an amazing creative force and I’ve always loved his aesthetic,” says Matthew Briggs, CEO of Four Hands. “He has a talent for creating furniture for the home that is livable art. Now with this new team, the creativity and design of the products are being taken to a whole new level. While all of our collaborations with Bina have produced amazing results, this is sure to be the best yet.”
Utilizing materials from around the globe such as African Walnut, Reclaimed French oak and Brazilian Lauro Preto, the design inspiration encompasses Art Nouveau, Mid-Century and Industrial influences, which are blended into timeless statements for every room.
The Four Hands showroom is in Showplace Suite 4101.
