Abbyson Living Opens 3 Million Square-Foot Upholstery Factory
Full-line importer Abbyson Living has opened a company-exclusive upholstery factory in Shanghai that encompasses more than 3 million square feet and includes 20 assembly lines.
Abbyson officials said the vertically integrated facility also has an R&D department, a full quality control department, and can produce more than 25 new models each month.
“We’re really excited about the new facility,” said Abby Rafieha, Abbyson Living’s founder and Chairman. “We’re now providing retailers with even higher quality merchandise, more stylish designs, and faster production times, because we can focus all our production efforts on innovation and expansion.”
The new facility allows Abbyson to develop any product samples or designs within four business days. By 2017, production capacity per month is expected to increase significantly, and lead times will shrink to 4 to 6 weeks on direct container orders.
“Our new facility will support our retailer and direct container expansion,” said Rodd Rafieha, Abbyson Living’s Senior Vice President. “It will allow us to increase our upholstered container capacity from 350 containers a month to 700. Quality will be held to the highest levels of Abbyson standards as well, with self-initiated quarterly audits by outside testing agencies.”
The company also owns a leather tannery in Henan Province.
Abbyson Living’s High Point showroom is space C-1156 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
