Housing Works’ widely popular interior design benefit event, Design on a Dime, will expand to a third location this fall taking place in Brooklyn’s Industry City.
Design on a Dime Brooklyn Outpost is a benefit and sale that will kick off with a ticketed opening night reception on Thursday, October 6th, followed by a special event produced by Housing Works Bookstore Cafe on Friday evening, with three public sale days following on October 7-9.
The event will celebrate Brooklyn art, culture, and design, featuring 20 room vignettes created by the borough’s established, as well as up and coming, interior designers and makers. Guests will be able to shop vignettes for furniture, art, and home décor at discounts up to 80% off retail with proceeds benefiting Housing Works’ lifesaving services, housing, and advocacy to New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS and homelessness.
“Brooklyn has become a design, art, and cultural hub of NYC and the world. We wanted to find a fun and unique way to highlight that, so bringing Design on a Dime to Brooklyn was a perfect fit” said Andrew Greene, SVP of Development, Marketing, and Businesses at Housing Works.
“You can expect Brooklyn Outpost to be innovative, fresh and funky with the same great deals and design found at our other Design on a Dime events.”
The inaugural Brooklyn Outpost is chaired by Design on a Dime founding chair, James Huniford; Co-Chairs: Editor in Chief of ELLE DÉCOR, Michael Boodro; President of Industry City, Andrew Kimball; world renowned photographer, Douglas Friedman, and Creative Director at Benjamin Moore & Co, Ellen O’Neill.
Design on a Dime Brooklyn Outpost is sponsored by ELLE DECOR, Benjamin Moore, Aviation American Gin and, Owl’s Brew.
