Florida Rep Group Honors Babette’s Furniture

The award was presented during a banquet at the Mission Inn in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.

Each year FHFRA donates a portion of the event proceeds to a charity chosen by the honored retailer. Babette’s Furniture choose the Ryon family, with whom they have developed a close relationship over the years. Maggie and Nick Ryon created Team Jay, a foundation to assist in the medical expenses for their son Jay Ryon, who is 9 years old and has been battling leukemia since January 2014.

“This year’s event was such a success, we were able to write a check for over $6,000 to Team Jay,” said Jim Annunziata, FHFRA President. “After hearing Maggie and Nick speak about the challenges their son Jay has faced, and continues to face, we are so honored to be able to make this kind of contribution.”

The association’s initial goal was $3,000, but more than $6,000 was contributed by those in attendance and several who sent in donations in the week following the event, he said.
