Pottery Barn Debuts New Store Design at Second Location

2016 by in Business Strategy, Industry, Store Openings
The 17,293 square foot store is influenced by the Spanish Mediterranean architecture found throughout Orange County, blending traditional and contemporary elements to create a refined and relaxed environment that embodies the Pottery Barn lifestyle.
The store features grand-scale steel framed windows and rustic wood barn doors with hand-forged metal accents that open into a warm and bright interior. Inside, beams made of reclaimed cedar and shelves made of oak salvaged from old barns add character while concrete and brick walls add texture through the use of mixed materials. As part of Pottery Barn’s commitment to sustainability, the store features LED lighting to reduce energy consumption and low VOC paints to reduce toxins.
Additionally, an expanded Design Studio offers new tools and resources to assist customers in visualizing and customizing interior design and home furnishings projects. In-store and in-home design consultations with expert Design Specialists are always free and, for a small fee, in-home installation services - which include room painting, drape installation, gallery wall hanging and more - are also available.
“South Coast Plaza is the second installment of our new store design and showcases our inviting and timeless home furnishings and décor in a refreshing new light,” said Laura Alber, President and Chief Executive Officer, Williams-Sonoma, Inc.
“This exciting update provides an opportunity to create a localized store experience that encourages a sense of discovery, makes shopping easy and fun, and offers tailored services to help our customers create their dream homes.”
To celebrate the opening, Pottery Barn hosted a pre-opening celebration with LA-based blogger, author, and tastemaker, Anne Sage, who shared her design tips for creating a serene and swoon-worthy sanctuary at home. Guests enjoyed light bites, beverages, and a DIY floral station from BloomThat. Additional store opening activities included a sweepstakes offering local customers a chance to win a $1,000 gift card and special opening weekend events from Friday August 12th – Sunday, August 14th, including succulent arranging workshops, floral arranging demonstrations, decorating classes and tastings from Williams-Sonoma.
