Crystorama Lighting Receives Award for Social Media Initiative

Crystorama Lighting’s “Complete the Look” social media campaign has won an Award of Distinction in the 2016 Communicator Awards competition.

The company was honored for its efforts in the Content & Marketing: Branded Social Post category.

“This prestigious award is a tribute to the major investments of time and energy we’ve made in social media over the past six months,” said Brad Kleinberg, President of Crystorama Lighting. “We now have a very active presence on all the leading social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Houzz. Our new ‘Complete the Look’ campaign has been particularly successful, since it provides a fun way for design enthusiasts to engage with our products and share creative ideas about which lighting fixtures might work best in particular spaces.”

Crystorama Lighting’s “Complete the Look” postings on Facebook invite readers to pick their favorite fixture for a celebrity room or space created by an influential designer. The posts present a “slideshow” with a choice of three different Crystorama Lighting fixtures that can be positioned in the room. After viewing the choices, fans vote on their favorites and share comments with friends and the entire Crystorama Facebook community about why they think a particular fixture is the best option for the room.

These postings have generated an increased number of likes, shares and comments in recent months, creating an ongoing conversation about lighting and design trends, said Kleinberg. “Design enthusiasts are hungry for unique content that they can interact with and share — and our ‘Complete the Look’ campaign is filling that need.” He added that Crystorama Lighting’s top “Complete the Look” post to date garnered 1,122 likes, 578 comments and 89 shares, “reaching nearly 12,000 people.” 

Between January and June of this year, Crystorama Lighting’s total Facebook “Likes” leapt from 17,187 to 18,489, an 8 percent increase. During the same period, the company’s Twitter followers grew from 1,187 to 1,316, an 11 percent gain, and its Instagram followers increased from 1,118 to 1,872, a 67 percent increase.

Now in its 22nd year, The Communicator Awards is a leading international awards program honoring excellence in marketing and communications. The program receives more than 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest competitions of its kind in the world.
