Malouf Celebrates Growth with New Corporate Headquarters

Upscale bedding producer Malouf recently unveiled its new corporate headquarters in Northern Utah, a much anticipated move to reinforce the company’s rapid growth and forward-thinking culture.

The new building serves as Malouf’s main office and primary warehouse for the Western U.S.

Malouf’s management team seized the building opportunity to create its ideal, culture-centric work environment. The result is a state-of-the-art facility that follows open-office design trends to create a collaborative, transparent atmosphere.

Malouf celebrated the new building at its grand opening event with more than 600 people. Founder and CEO Sam Malouf set the tone by recognizing the people who helped make the company what it is today.

“Building a new headquarters was a chance to do something that really focused on our people, their individuality and the traditions we’ve created together,” said Malouf. “The people here are the key to our success. Together we created a culture, and this building is a reflection of that. It includes fun, energy, respect, purpose, dignity, kindness, creativity and absolutely no beige carpet or motivational posters.”

To commemorate the building, Malouf swung a specially prepared gold hammer through a large plate of glass instead of a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We’ve created our own unique traditions, and in keeping with that, we broke glass instead of cutting a ribbon,” said Jake Neeley, the Marketing Communications Director at Malouf. “It’s fun, and different, but it also has meaning; we’re a transparent company, breaking glass is part of  traditions that remind us to be humble, and glass is prominent in the building’s architecture.”

The building’s design creates a workspace bathed in natural light and that features landscape views of picturesque Wellsville mountain range. Natural beauty is also found inside – Italian carrara marble covers the floor and tropical trees fill open spaces.

A two-story strength and conditioning gym and indoor basketball court help the Malouf team achieve healthy living. A commercial kitchen and large dining area offer a daily gathering place for employees to enjoy healthy, house-made lunches prepared by Malouf’s corporate chef and staff.

The warehouse portion of the facility is 6.6 million cubic feet – enough space to fit 12.5 million sets of Malouf’s Egyptian cotton sheets. Malouf will distribute its sheets, mattress protectors, pillows, framed and toppers across the Western U.S. from the new location. The Eastern U.S. will continue to be served by the company’s three distribution locations in North Carolina.

The building is a big milestone for a company that started in a two-bedroom apartment less than 13 years ago.

“A lot has changed since we started and, at the end of the day, this is just a building,” Malouf said. “Inside it however, I’m surrounded by the best change that has come; smart, passionate people. They have ideas and stories to share and we are energized and challenged by them every day. To all our employees and business partners, thank you for being the cornerstone of our success; thank you for supporting us.”
