Identified as a collective of designers under the helm of founder Jianwei Li and Francois Champsaur, creative director, the company’s design aesthetic merges European influence with Asian sensibility. Founded in 2006, HC28 is priced at mid-to-high level targeting both hospitality and residential settings.
Working with furniture manufacturer EJ Victor, HC28 wants to establish retail stores initially through EJ Victor’s distribution network and sales team.
“Our retail strategy involves connecting with dealers nationwide to carry our line,” Li said. The company will showcase its line in EJ Victor’s showroom at 116 South Lindsay Street.
“Our innovative contemporary design aesthetic is fresh and warm by interplaying different cultures,” Champsaur said. “There isn’t one dominant cultural element; instead, they all work in harmony to create a poetic and sculptural design line.”
The contemporary home furnishings line includes upholstery, case goods, occasional tables, rugs and accessories. With a retail presence in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, the luxury home furnishings company is looking to expand into the U.S. market.
“HC28's vision is to offer good design and quality furniture that everyone can have in their homes,” Li said. “We recognize that the U.S. is the most important market for consumer goods and that the industry is growing vastly there.”
