Smartstuff to Engage Consumers with Social Media Contest

2016 by in Industry, Social Media
Youth furniture supplier Smartstuff has kicked off a social media contest to support its Smartshop retailers by engaging consumers in the stores.
The #shareandwin campaign is a year-long promotion that engages consumers’ social media behavior of posting images to Instagram and Twitter.
To enter, consumers snap a picture of a Smartstuff product in a Smartshop retail store. Then they share it on Instagram or Twitter mentioning @smartstuff4kids, the retailer and the hashtag #shareandwin. Smartstuff will give away a piece of children’s furniture to a winner every month between now and Dec. 31.
“We’re committed to engaging the consumer and driving her to our retailers,” said Neil MacKenzie, Smartstuff marketing director. “Social media is a big part of this effort.”
While the virtual portion of the contest lives on smart phones, in-store point-of-purchase materials engage consumers in the store. Each Smartshop retailer uses #shareandwin hang tags in the showroom to introduce the contest.
“It’s a good ice breaker between the retail sales associate and consumer, and it helps support the retailer after the consumer has left the store,” MacKenzie said.
