Corinthian Furniture to Consolidate Factories

Upholstery supplier Corinthian Furniture will consolidate its Mississippi operations over the next two months to its facility in Corinth, Miss.

The company will close its 300,000-square-foot Booneville, Miss., factory that opened in 2002. The company said it will offer many of the 164 Booneville employees transfers to the Corinth factory about 20 miles away.

The Prentiss County Development Association said employees were told Wednesday of the company’s plans.

“We were surprised when notified earlier this week of the closure, especially in a time when the furniture industry in north Mississippi seems to be seeing growth,” said Leon Hays, PCDA executive director.
