Vaughan-Bassett to Unveil Artisan & Post at Premarket
The initial introduction of Artisan & Post will feature two collections with nearly 300 SKUs, and the company plans to add groups in the future, said Wyatt Bassett, CEO.
“We detected an opening in the marketplace that only Vaughan-Bassett can fill,” he said, adding that solid wood bedrooms sourced from Asia are limited in in finish and bed options. Those offerings, Bassett said, are also often crafted from wood species that are unknown to American consumers.
“Our Artisan & Post solid wood bedroom division will give the consumer many finish, hardware and piece options, and we will only use American-grown hardwoods, including cherry, oak and maple,” Bassett said. “We will also carry millions of dollars of finished goods inventory in our Virginia and North Carolina warehouses so that we can offer delivery in just one or two weeks.”
The company’s first offering will be in solid cherry and solid oak and will be available in five finishes. The collection will feature five bed options, 18 hardware choices and a breadth of case pieces in both smaller, cleaner lines and larger, traditional designs.
The second collection will be shown in solid maple and will be available in three finishes. Multiple bed and storage options will be included.
Artisan & Post will feature dual, ball-bearing drawer guides under each drawer, acrylic finished interior drawer sides and bottoms and English dovetail construction. Soft-close drawer mechanisms will be part of the division.
“This combination of high-end features improves upon the drawer design we feature in our Vaughan-Bassett Elite Series of veneered furniture, and we believe our drawers will be a powerful selling feature on dealers’ floors,” Bassett said. “We intend to give consumers the finest quality Vaughan-Bassett has ever produced, a wealth of options to satisfy every consumer, and the kind of quick delivery that is not typical in today’s solid wood marketplace.”
