Nourison’s Noury Peykar, 95, Dies

Noury Peykar, the chairman of rug supplier Nourison, has died. He was 95.
Born in Kashan, Iran, Peykar founded Nourison with is four sons in 1980. The company name is a combination of Noury and sons, a tribute to Peykar and his legacy.
Peykar still reported to the company’s Saddle Brook, N.J., office nearly every day where he greeted everyone with a warm smile and friendly wave.
He is survived by his sons Paul, Edmond, Alex and Steven; his daughter Maggi Hakimi and their spouses; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. His first wife Joanna died in 1959. His second wife Esmat died in August.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Temple Israel of Great Neck (N.Y.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen or to the Jewish National Fund.
