Walker Edison Triples Distribution Space

RTA supplier Walker Edison is tripling its distribution capacity with a leased 80,000-square-foot warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah, to meet increased demand.
The warehouse features 32-foot clear heights. The new facility is in addition to the company’s current 40,000-square-foot warehouse and corporate offices.
The new warehouse will allow Walker Edison to stock its products in depth to guarantee rapid response to its retail customers.
“Our business is growing exponentially; our product line is growing as we add new categories so our in-stock inventory has increased as well as the volume on our existing items,” said Barrett Bushman, chief marketing officer. “For example, this year we added headboards as a new product category and extended the options on outdoor, dining, home entertainment and home office.”
The new facility will feature upgraded warehouse management and inventory management systems. It will be fully operational and stocked by the end of first quarter of this year. Walker Edison keeps 95 percent of its product line in-stock at all times to avoid out of stock periods.
