Fine Cotton Factory Doubles Production

Textile supplier Fine Cotton Factory has doubled its production space to 80,000 square feet as a result of a higher than expected increase in demand.

The expansion will house 70 knitting machines including several new high speed decorative mattress ticking machines that will allow for an increase in production capacity to 500,000 yards per month.

Because the new machines have average of 30 percent more feeds than other machines in the market, FCF’s factory will now be able to produce more fabric per square foot, all manufactured with FCF’s current technology.

The expansion includes a 5,000-square-foot display space, design studio, and sample room to showcase the company’s product and design capabilities.  FCF plans to open a testing lab in the expanded facility to support product quality control programs later this year.

“We have had outstanding response from leading mattress makers and working successfully with those partners is a vital strategic goal of our company,” said Skip Kann, director of special projects. “We have rebuilt our entire factory to increase space and production capabilities and significantly enhanced our ability to produce high-quality fabrics for our U.S. customers.”

The company will introduce several products this year, including imported woven and knitted copper-infused fabrics, themed design strategies, phase change yarns and more, and fully leverage the substantial experience in apparel fabrics, and dyeing and finishing of the company’s personnel to continue FCF’s industry leadership.

“Because Fine Cotton Factory now produces decorative ticking for every shape and size mattress, including every available yarn, design and color, and we are introducing new fabrics this year, the expansion will support the growing popularity of all our fabrics, technologies and treatments,” Kann said.

The expanded facility will also allow FCF to increase production of eco-friendly textiles and fabrics including recycling waste raw materials and fabrics and operating clean rooms as part of the manufacturing process. The company, which has been recognized for its corporate environmental stewardship, will continue using organic, sustainable and recycled sources to create organic fabrics and organic, biodegradable dyes.
