Furniture First Reduces Membership Dues

Retail buying group Furniture First has reduced its quarterly dues for members from $1,000 to $750.
Recent membership growth and increased efficiencies in the administrative office enabled the reduction.
“Our membership has grown in recent years,” said Steve Kloss, interim CEO. “In fact, we continued to grow through the worst of the economic downturn. Our members have weathered the storm and business is picking up in several regions of the country. And now we have reached a membership level that allows us to make it an even better value.”
Kloss said rarely do members write a check for dues. Instead, the payment is deducted from quarterly rebates that group issues to members based on participation in the buying group’s programs.
“Everyone has to win in our programs,” Kloss said. “Retailers are motivated by rebates to use Furniture First programs. Our vendors know that Furniture First members look at our programs first when shopping for new products and services. Often they increase their purchases with Furniture First vendors to maximize their return.”
