Wayfair Makes Powerplay in Canada

E-commerce home furnishings retailer Wayfair (NYSE: W) has unveiled Wayfair in Canada with the launch of Wayfair.ca.

The website will offer Canadian consumers the retailer’s selection of 7 million home products from more than 7,000 vendors.

“The launch of Wayfair.ca will allow us to better meet the needs of our growing base of Canadian customers as they seek an exceptional shopping experience for home furnishings and décor,” said Niraj Shah, CEO, co-founder and co-chairman of Wayfair. “We are excited to offer Canadians an unrivaled shopping experience for everything home. Wayfair.ca offers an expansive selection of home furnishings along with inspiring content, excellent service and convenient shipping and delivery options to help Canadians find the perfect item at the right price.”

To support the new business, Wayfair has partnered with Canadian suppliers to create a localized shopping experience for Canadian consumers. The company has also built a bi-lingual customer service team to better communicate with consumers.

In addition to the creation of the Canadian-geared site, the company has also rolled out two specialized programs to support trade and business professionals in the country.

Trade Services at Wayfair offers exclusive discounts and customized support to interior designers, architects, contractors, and real estate developers, and Wayfair Business serves B2B customers in industries including office, hospitality and education.

Trade and business professionals can now access furniture and décor options across all styles and price points with the added benefits of a specialized B2B program.

“Whether sourcing furnishings for a residential setting or a commercial space, designers and business professionals now have one comprehensive, go-to resource for all of their furniture and décor needs,” said Jessica Dowling, head of trade services at Wayfair. “Our trade services and business programs make it easier than ever for design and business professionals to find exclusive discounts on the right products and seamlessly manage projects with the support of a dedicated team of service professionals who understand their unique needs.”
