Slumberland Buys New Headquarters

Home furnishings retailer Slumberland Furniture has acquired a 122-acre complex in Oakdale, Minn., for its new headquarters.

The retailer, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, bought the property that includes four buildings totaling more than 500,000 square feet. The complex has four tenants, all of whom have been invited to stay.

The new campus will allow the retailer to consolidate its team into one location. Throughout the company’s growth, Slumberland’s business and office support teams have spread across multiple office buildings in the Little Canada, Minn., area.

Kenny Larson, Slumberland president, said the larger facility will allow the company to continue on its growth trajectory and support the retention and recruitment of employees.

Relocation to the new facility is targeted for the first half of this year.

“We are eager to take this next step in the continuing growth of the Slumberland Furniture brand,” Larson said. “We’re proud to have been in business and giving back to our communities for nearly 50 years. This step helps set the groundwork as we look forward to the next 50 years of creating a good life for our customers, our employees and our franchisees.”

Slumberland has 125 company owned and franchised stores across 12 states. The retailer employs more than 2,000 people.
