The company is now accepting orders for shipping from the facility.
“I am excited our new Mississippi facility adds this new level of service to select current and many prospective dealers by offering our best selling products, across all Emerald categories, to a new audience,” said John Iasiello, vice president of eastern sales and case goods product development. “We are an important direct container supplier nationally and our Tacoma warehousing has been a good solution for those retailers in the western region of the U.S. Now, however, our Eastern and Midwest retail partners will realize greater profitability through reduced freight and inventory costs and increased sales velocity through this new Mississippi Warehouse.”
The newly renovated and updated 60,000-square-foot facility boasts new T-8 lighting that will reduce energy consumption while improving the quality of interior light. The warehouse portion of the facility will store up to 6,000 units of upholstery and case goods. Several leading LTL and truck load furniture carriers have terminals in the area enabling a cost effective delivery solution for our carriers.
Shipping will commence in the next few weeks.
“Phase One of Emerald Home Mississippi’s strategic plan is to create a domestic delivery solution for the region of the U.S. which finds freight rates from Mississippi attractive,” said David Beckmann, Emerald president. “We will be stocking a select offering with an eye towards products which will appeal to that consumer base. We expect Phase Two, manufacturing of upholstery items, to begin sometime in the second quarter of 2016. We are ready and eager to welcome many new dealers to the Emerald family and with a property size of 80 acres, our New Albany campus will give us the ability to grow as customer needs dictate.”
