Universal Trains Sales Representatives on LinkedIn

The sales team for Universal Furniture will be trained today on maximizing the effectiveness of LinkedIn in business.

Ira Bass, CEO of Charlotte-based IB Media, will lead the online presentation.

“We’re committed to making use of any technology that improves our performance as a company or increases the capabilities of our sales force,” said Neil MacKenzie, director of marketing for Universal. “We want our team to be well versed in the most up-to-the-minute business methods and to have the know-how to capitalize on the advantages they offer.”

Bass will structure the presentation to exhibit the aspects of LinkedIn, which serves as an online professional networking and personal branding tool. Attendees will be able to ask questions in real time.

“With a comprehensive overview and tour of LinkedIn, users will discover benefits they may not have been aware of before,” Bass said.

Bass will lead Universal’s sales representatives through key aspects of the platform, including profile optimization for increasing profile visibility, advanced search and prospecting techniques via social selling and the strategy of groups.

“Social media continues to reshape how business is conducted,” MacKenzie said. “Universal wants to be at the forefront of using these tools effectively.”
