Legends Furniture Celebrates 25 Years

Case goods supplier Legends Furniture was will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the upcoming High Point Market

Founded in 1990 in Phoenix by Rick Schmidgall, the company has grown from its humble beginnings in a 1,000-square-foot leased space. Today the company operates in a 140,000-square-foot facility on 26 acres. The company is in the process of expanding its Arizona facility looking to double its footprint by adding production and warehouse space.

Today the company’s real estate includes the factory, a cross dock facility in Los Angeles, a mixable warehouse in Vietnam and a North Carolina distribution center.

In 2001, Legends introduced its import division and created a a dual approach with the import side of the business augmenting its manufacturing.

Schmidgall credits the company’s success to a slow-growth philosophy that focused on getting the business in line before taking the next step.

Most of the company’s original employees are still part of the Legends family.

“Legends Furniture is poised for significant growth,” Schmidgall said. “Our domestic business is booming and our import business is as solid as ever. As predominately a supplier of entertainment and home office furniture, we see a huge opportunity in bedroom, both imported and domestic.”

An anniversary celebration will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 in the company’s showroom at 215 Furniture Plaza.
