Home furnishings e-commerce retailer Wayfair (NYSE: W) is expanding its distribution operations in Kentucky through a lease for warehouse in Erlanger, Ky.
The 898,500-square-foot fulfillment center sits on 52 acres adjacent to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
The Erlanger, Ky., fulfillment center will complement Wayfair’s current 525,000-square-foot distribution center in Hebron, Ky.
“We are pleased to expand our footprint in northern Kentucky as we increase our distribution capacity to accommodate the rapid growth of our business,” said Nicholas Malone, chief administrative officer for Wayfair. “We look forward to creating local jobs as we build our fulfillment and service teams in northern Kentucky. Our new, state-of-the-art facility and the ability to tap into the region’s strong talent pool will help us deliver on the Wayfair promise of an exceptional, e-commerce shopping experience in the home space.”
The property, which is being developed by Dermody Properties, is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2016.
