Morris Furniture Bets on Buckeyes—Again

The Buckeyes are the first team to receive a unanimous preseason No.1 ranking in the Associated Press college football poll.
Shoppers who purchased $1,999 in home furnishings over the weekend could get a rebate equal to the amount of the purchase if the Buckeyes win the championship game by 22 points or more, the same point difference in the championship game this year. Ohio State defeated the Oregon Ducks 42-20 in January.
Morris held a similar promotion last year, and more than 500 customers received $1.5 million in refunds for their purchases.
“What could be better than Ohio State winning the championship? Getting your furniture purchase, free,” says Larry Klaben, president and CEO of Morris Furniture Co. “Whether you are a fan of this team or cheer for another, the chance to get your purchase free has excited many Morris Home Furnishings, Ashley Furniture HomeStore and Better Sleep Shop customers.”
The sale started Wednesday and runs through tomorrow. More details on the promotion are available online.
“Labor Day is a huge shopping weekend for furniture and mattress retailers, said Robert Klaben, Morris Furniture Co. vice president of marketing and advertising. “We’re giving shoppers several big reasons to start their shopping early. Avoid the Labor Day weekend crowds and enjoy storewide savings and a chance to get free furniture if the Buckeyes win the championship this year by the same number of points as last year, or more. Why would shoppers go anywhere else?”
