PMP Sales and Furniture First have created a partnership to provide independent furniture retailers tools and resources for success.
In addition to broadening the services offered through Furniture First, the partnership recognizes the importance of high-impact promotions as a tool to strengthen a retailer’s business model.
PMP Sales, an industry consulting and promotion company with 25 years of experience creating high-impact promotions for retailers.
“Over the past year, PMP Sales has already helped several Furniture First members,” said Lark Shirley-Stevens, vice president of communications for Furniture First. “Their flexibility and easy-to-work-with team helped build a foundation for this program. After seeing one success story after another, it felt only natural to bring them on as one of our preferred service providers.”
Furniture First is a cooperative of independent home furnishings retailers across the United States with more than 215 members.
“The furniture industry is evolving at a very fast pace these days,” said Ron Cooper, vice president of sales and marketing for PMP Sales. “In the old days, promotion companies were negatively perceived, existing only as the undertakers for stores that couldn’t make it. Now, with the availability of mass-produced furniture online and in big-box stores like Walmart and Costco, the independents must evolve to keep pace. PMP Sales is a promotion company that has evolved with the times, creating successful strategies for independent retailers to produce the extra cash flow required to stay on top.”
Cooper said that although PMP Sales has been offering these innovative regenerative services for more than a decade, independent retailers have only recently overcome the stigma associated with promotion companies.
“It’s been amazing to witness the forerunners who take a chance with us, and then see them experience results beyond their expectations,” Cooper said.
