Tom Lentz, 66, Dies

Former long-time Broyhill Furniture executive Tom Lentz has died.
Lentz, who held a number of positions with Broyhill from 1989 until 2006, was 66.
Lentz was vice president of consumer marketing for Broyhill for the largest part of his tenure with the company. For a two-year stint from 1992-1994, he was named vice president of the company’s Premier division before returning to his marketing position.
Prior to joining the furniture industry, Lentz had a long career in advertising and marketing and held positions with some of the top New York ad agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather, Kenyon & Eckardt and Benton & Bowles.
Lentz was a graduate of Wofford College and the University of Georgia.
Lentz is survived by his wife Dr. Alice Boggs Lentz; his daughter Margaret Alice Lentz; and his son Marcus Alexander Lentz.
A memorial service was held May 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hickory, N.C.
Memorials may be made to Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.; the Good Samaritan’s Fund at First Presbyterian Church in Hickory or to the charity of one’s choice.
