Mattress Firm to Consolidate Headquarters

Mattress retailer Mattress Firm, Inc. (NASDAQ: MFRM) will consolidate its two Houston offices into one corporate campus to house more than 350 employees.

The company will move into a 130,000-square-foot property at in June 2016 to provide more space and growth opportunities for retailer.

“This move represents an exciting milestone for Mattress Firm, celebrating the strategic growth we’ve successfully executed over the past two years,” said Steve Stagner, CEO of Mattress Firm. “We remain committed to our hometown of Houston and are looking forward to our company’s next chapter in the city. Improving the lives of our employees is a vital part of our mission, and the new corporate campus will provide unmatched amenities and convenience for our team, as well as help us increase productivity and attract and retain top talent as we continue to grow our company.”

The new corporate campus will include an on-site cafeteria, large meeting spaces and conference centers, nearly double the number of work stations, ample parking, and is in close proximity to several of the area’s retail, dining and entertainment destinations. The campus also will provide convenient ingress and egress for Mattress Firm employees living across Greater Houston, with direct access to the areas major interstates and corridors. Future plans for the campus may include an on-site gym, wellness center, walking trails and sleep centers.

“As we looked at the possibility of moving, location, convenience and size were our largest considerations,” said Karrie Forbes, chief business officer for Mattress Firm, who also is leading the relocation efforts. “We wanted to ensure that our new campus would keep us close to the center of Houston, where we were founded nearly 30 years ago, while at the same time providing enough space to support our continued growth. Even more, we wanted to find the right building to combine our two Houston offices that would be convenient for our employees and promote heightened connectivity and culture throughout the company.”

The Mattress Firm headquarters will occupy the entire building, currently leased by Stage Stores Corporate.
