West Elm Readies Office Furniture Line

Lifestyle retailer West Elm is gearing up for the introduction of its office furniture line with Inscape.

The 75-piece West Elm Workspace collection will debut at next week’s NeoCon in Chicago.

Designed by West Elm’s in-house design team, West Elm Workspace merges style, flexibility, comfort and affordability into four distinct collections in mid-century, industrial, contemporary, and modern styles, bringing a residential aesthetic to the office. The majority of West Elm Workspace will be manufactured in North America, and many of the pieces utilize environmentally sustainable practices and materials. The line also features high-performance fabrics by Designtex. The complete assortment will be available through a network of authorized dealers and through the brand’s website.

“We are introducing West Elm Workspace to the market at a time when meaningful change in the way offices are designed is needed. We carefully considered how people utilize and map their space; then we set out to create a full suite of solutions for the way we work now,” said Jim Brett, West Elm president. “We will offer conducive space solutions that expand and contract when needed, providing both focused and collaborative environments. The combination of West Elm’s great design with Inscape’s technical expertise yields functional solutions with the warmth and design appeal you only expect to find at home.”

The West Elm Workspace collection features private offices; tables; benching systems; task, guest, occasional and lounge seating; storage; and accessories, in addition to sit-stand options and ergonomic solutions that facilitate wellness in the work environment. The collection also includes customized conference tables made in a range of finishes by Brooklyn-based, furniture designer Mark Jupiter.

“It’s exciting to be collaborating with West Elm on this type of collection,” said Jim Stelter, Inscape CEO. “Our goal with West Elm Workspace is to disrupt the current office furnishings model. We’re innovating for our resellers, creating a streamlined approach that focuses on the customer experience by combining new technology focused on applications with a pricing structure that is transparent and clear with value at its core.”
