Top-of-bed supplier HomTex is making a $4 million investment in a manufacturing facility in Alabama to keep up with increased demand.
The investment will cover the cost to retrofit a 300,000-square-foot former tool factory that shuttered in 2011. HomTex plans to establish a cut-and-sew operation in the facility. The company’s 100,000-square-foot factory in Vinemont, Ala., where the company is headquartered, will be transitioned to a distribution facility and showroom.
“We’ve identified growth opportunities for top-of-bed products from HomTex that deliver real solutions for end users, as well as incremental sales and margins for dealers,” said Jeremy Wootten, president. “Increasing our U.S. based manufacturing capacity is a critical step in the areas of fulfillment and reducing delivery lead times.”
A start date for production in the new facility will be set later this year.
HomTex is a supplier to mass retailers and department stores as well as to specialty sleep retailers, home furnishings dealers and e-commerce sites. HomTex markets its top-of-bed products under the brand names Suprelle, Dream Essence by FitRite, Revive and DreamFit.
The company also owns manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina.
