Cory’s Joe Cory Sr., 76, Dies
Cory was CEO of the company from 1977 until 2013 with the transition of management to the family’s third generation.
For more than five decades, Cory’s vision of a company built on relationships of respect helped grow the business. His mantra was “We are in a people business, not a trucking business”, and his mindset help create a family atmosphere within the corporate structure that extended to his clients.
Cory is survived by his wife Nada Cory; sons Joe Cory Jr., Patrick Cory and his wife Chunji, and Marin Dragojevic; daughters Virginia Grace, Jennifer and her husband Rocco Morrongiello, Jessica and her husband Tony Robles, and Marina Dragojevic; and sister Grace and her husband Jim Tsokanos. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Tenafly, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the City of Hope. Cory was honored with the organization’s Spirit of Life award in 2010 for his efforts to support City of Hope’s research effort in finding cures for cancer and other illnesses.
