Furnitureland South Co-founder Stella Harris, 69, Dies

Stella Harris who founded and grew home furnishings retailer Furnitureland South into the world’s largest furniture store with her husband Darrell Harris, has died. She was 69.
Her death comes less than a year after the death of Darrell Harris.
Stella Harris was inducted into the American Furniture Hall of Fame in 2010.
Born in Trenton, Tenn., Harris married Darrell Harris when she was 18, and had lived in the High Point area since then.
A longstanding member of Green Street Baptist Church in High Point, Harris is survived by here two sons and their wives, Jason and Jenny Harris of High Point and Jeff and Stacey Harris of Greensboro; her 8 grandchildren Sydney (19), Tanner (18), Caroline (16), Lindsay (14), Sarah Parker (11), Kendall (11), Jace (9) and Sophie (4); and her sister Linda Milligan.
Funeral services will be held today at Green Street Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-3 p.m.
