Kannoa Establishes New Office Following Fire

Miami-based outdoor furniture supplier Kannoa is operating under its contingency plan following a devastating fire last week at its 30,000-square-foot facility.

The warehouse was completely destroyed.

“Thank God everyone is well. Nobody was harmed, the loss is only material and we are just concentrating on reorganizing to start fulfilling orders right now,” said Phillip Boulton, COO and cofounder of the company.

The company has set up a new office location to continue its operations, and all manufacturing and inbound shipments have been fast tracked to minimize supply chain impact.

The fire broke out just before 8 a.m. Thursday, March 5, before most employees had arrived for work. No injuries or casualties were reported after nearly 200 fire fighters worked for several hours to contain the blazes that destroyed the building. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this point.

“Even though the entire inventory stored in that warehouse was totally destroyed, we have a considerable amount of products in transit which will allow us to get back in business right away,” Boulton said. “Fortunately all relevant data has been electronically backed up so retrieving records will not be an issue.”

The Kannoa team has stepped up and the family-like atmosphere grows in the new office, business as usual is the spirit at the new location. Deliveries set up for March and April will be delayed but manufacturing orders will not be affected.
