Abbyson Living will begin a two-phase moving process consolidating its two West Coast facilities into one large distribution center in the greater Los Angeles area.
The new location is an 11.87-acre site and will have 500,000 square feet of racked warehouse space, 22,600 square feet of office space, eight truck-high doors, six ground level doors, 30 feet clear height, and 417 parking spaces. Abbyson’s move will be completed in March of 2015.
“With our continued expansion, we saw a need to consolidate operations into one combined building,” said Yavar Rafieha, president. “The move will position us for further growth and give us the space to expand into new categories.”
For employees, the new location will feature a fun room with ping pong, air hockey, and basketball, in addition to a café, espresso bar, gym, outdoor patio area, library, massage room, fresh bakery treats every week, and a chef-cooked meal once a month. New business enhancements include a design center, merchandising room, film and photo studio, and a new product sample showroom.
“The vision behind the office is to follow the model of successful companies,” Rafieha said. “We’re like the Google and Apple of home furnishings. We are creating an environment and a company our employees can be proud of.”
The move will create an additional 60 jobs in customer service and warehousing.
Additionally, Abbyson will be updating its ERP software and racking and scanning systems to allow for more data and streamlined operations.
