Morris Bets on Buckeyes

Morris Furniture Co. is offering customers free furniture at its Morris Home Furnishings and Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations if the Ohio State Buckeyes win the NCAA football championship on Jan. 12 by seven points or more.
The promotion applies to purchases of $1,999 or more on furniture, mattresses and accessories (taxes & delivery fees not included) before Dec. 30.
“All Morris Home Furnishings, Ashley Furniture HomeStore and Better Sleep Shops located in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio, and Florence, Kentucky are participating in a first time ever promotion where shoppers can get their purchase free if Ohio’s team wins the big game on January 12th by 7 points or more,” said Larry Klaben, president and CEO of Morris Furniture Co., Fairborn, Ohio.
Ohio State took the Big Ten Championship thanks to the third-string quarterback leading the team to an impressive 59-0 score over Wisconsin.
“We want to create excitement, show support for our state team, and give our customers an unbelievable offer they won’t want to miss,” said Klaben.
Seth Baker, general manager of the Ashley Furniture HomeStore on Sawmill Road in Columbus said, “It’s a fantastic offer for our customers and we all want to see our hometown team win.”
This is the first time Morris has run such a promotion.

The response from the public has been incredible so far, said Morris Furniture Sales and Promotions Manager Christina Negri.
“Our showrooms have been extremely busy with Ohio’s raving fans and also shoppers who are not rooting for the Columbus team to win," she said. "Many shoppers have put aside their team allegiance if it means they could get a rebate for their purchase of living room, bedroom or dining room furniture. One Buckeye fan was looking for a gift recliner for his father and purchased an entire dining room for his family hoping to get it free with a big win on Jan. 12.”
