Norman Coley, 52, Dies

Norman Coley, president of upholstery producer Lee Inds., died unexpectedly Saturday. He was 52.
He was the son of Billy "Bill" Garrison Coley Sr., of Conover, N.C., and the late Dorcas "Dottie" Gilbert Bolick Coley. He graduated from Hargrave Military Academy and received a degree in engineering from North Carolina State University. He began his work career at Siecor in Hickory, where he met his wife Bondi Coley.
In 1998, he joined Lee Inds. as a sales representative for Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. In 1995, Coley moved back to Conover to work in the family business. Coley enjoyed spending time on the lake, in the mountains and on his farm.
In addition to his wife, Coley is survived by two sons Bo Coley and Decker Coley; his father Bill Coley; a brother Billy Coley and his wife Clair Coley of Cumming, Ga.; and sisters Ginny C. Collett and husband John of Charlotte; and Susanne C. McMillan and husband Tom of Birmingham, Ala.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, at 11:30 a.m. The Revs. Paul Birner and David Ludwig will officiate. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service at the church.
