Furniture Training Co. Kicks off Video Contest
June 18,
2014 by in Industry, Social Media
In the contest dubbed “Know More—Sell More,” contestants are urged to let loose their creativity and use humor, drama, music and/or special effects to make videos about how the knowledge and skills they've learned with online furniture and mattress sales training from FTC has helped increase sales. Digital videos may be made with smartphones, tablets, or cameras.
“The theme for this video contest is ideal for raising awareness that a well-designed, structured, ongoing approach to sales training is far more effective than a single training event or even a two week cram course," said Mark Lacy, FTC president. Ninety-five percent of users report increased sales from our online training and we want them to share their stories."
"Research on training shows that traditional classroom training, on-the-job mentoring, books, and videos fail to provide lasting changes in selling behaviors," said Mike Petersen, director of training at FTC. "These approaches deliver too much information too soon, offer a fragmented delivery of information rather than supporting continuous improvement, and leave large gaps in the knowledge and skills salespeople need for success. I look forward to seeing how our most important stakeholders – sales associates – have been able to increase their sales with FTC’s individualized, ongoing sales training programs.”
Submissions for the video contest will be accepted through July 6. The contest is open to all sales associates and managers with a current subscription the FTC furniture and mattress training. Award nominees will be selected by training experts from The Furniture Training Co. and will be posted on the FTC Facebook page July 11-20. Winners will based on the total number of likes each posted video receives. Winners will be announced July 21.
The first place video producer wins an iPad Mini; second place, $100 Amazon gift card; and third place, $50 Amazon gift card.
The winning videos will also be featured on The Furniture Training Co. Web site and social networking platforms.
