Fran Luedtke, 73, Dies

Former fabric executive Fran Luedtke has died. He was 73.


Fran (F.C.) Luedtke, 73, died on April 30, 2014 following a brief illness, with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago on May 12, 1940 to Franklin G. and Eleanor Mullane Luedtke. He graduated from Mendel High School and later from Xavier University. Immediately following graduation from Xavier he was commissioned a 2nd Lt in the US Army and served on active duty at Ft. Sill, OK and also Ft. Benning, Ga.

After discharge from the Army, Fran and his family moved to High Point, N.C., and he went to work with the David Rothschild Company - then a converter of upholstery textiles.
